Biology is a year long science course. Students who complete Biology, with a passing grade, will receive a core science credit toward graduation. Three years of science, two of which are core science courses are required to graduate from Alta High School. Other core science courses that count toward high school graduation are Physics, Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, or AP Physics. While completion of two core science courses and any other third year of science fulfill requirements for high school graduation, many colleges require the completion of three core sciences.
A good way for students and parents to reach me is via my district email: [email protected]. I will be available for students during engagement time on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings for 7:10 AM - 7:40 AM. I will be available after school until 3:00PM most afternoons. I have meetings sometimes after school so check with me ahead of time to be sure I will be there.

Cornell Note Taking Method
Cornell method of note taking is the method of note taking used in this class. When notes are submitted for grading they will be graded not only on completion but on whether or not the student used the Cornell format in taking their notes. Cornell note taking method is used widely, and is a preferred method used in colleges and universities. It is a way of committing material taught in class to memory and making notes a useful tool.
